End Of Semester - Where Streams Separated One Year Long

Hello guys,

It's been a long time since I was updated this batch blog. It's almost like I'm the only writer here :P. Anyway, as we know, the semester has come to the end, with the finals looming in just 9 days from now.

After that, the technocrats will be missing from UTP for the internship next semester while the engineers crack the heads for Engineering Team Project. After that, the engineers will be missing afterwards while the technocrats back from the internship.

Which means the engineers and technocrats will not be meeting from 1 June 2009 until 9 July 2010, that's a freaking 13 months.

Therefore, when we come back for July 2010 semester, which is another year awwaay from now, the task is to plan a sports carnival and a grand send-off for the future graduates to be.

Maybe each courses should have some special name for their courses.

Anyway, all the best to all July 06 comrades. May everyone survive the final exam onslaught. And the next update, might be about internship experience among the IT/IS brats. Those who in the specified group, please use your access to share the experience.

Au revoir then. Cheers ;)

ESQ UTP Training - By ESQ UTP Alumni

What does ESQ stands for?

ESQ stands for Emotional, Spiritual Quotient.

What are Emotional and Spiritual Quotient?

Emotional Intelligence (EI), often measured as an Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EQ), describes a concept that involves the ability, capacity, skill or (in the case of the trait EI model) a self-perceived ability, to identify, assess, and manage the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups.
Bradberry, Travis and Greaves, Jean. (2005). The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book. New York: Simon and Schuster. (ISBN 0743273265)

Spiritual Quotient (SQ) is described as a measure that looks at a person's spiritual intelligence in the same way as intelligence quotient (IQ) looks at cognitive intelligence. It is the study in which there are 6 types of personalities: social, investigative, artistic, realist, contractor and conventional.

The authors who have already begun dishing out books by the dozen on the subject of Spiritual Quotient contend that it is only SQ that set humans apart from both machines and animals. According to them SQ is about compassion and creativity, self-awareness and self-esteem, flexibility and gratitude.

What is ESQ Leadership Training?

ESQ Leadership training is a
2 or 3 days training that uses a character development module, “The ESQ Way 165″. It was founded by Dr. Ary Ginanjar Agustian and it was proven useful since there is more than 600 000 alumni around the world.

Why it is called a “leadership training”?

Micheal H. Hart, the author of “The Most Influential Person in The World” had eventually concluded that Prophet Muhammad(peace been upon him) as the No. 1 leader on top of other great leaders such as Gautama Buddha, Vladimir Lenin, Jesus Christ and many more.

ESQ Leadership Training is about
learning the experience of the most influential leader in the world history; the values, principles and actions that makes him the top leader.

What does the training bring?

ESQ Leadership Training unleash our inner(intrinsic) universal values of
honesty, responsibility, teamwork, discipline, fairness, visioner and care (7 ESQ Core Values).

The universal values cross the borders of differences may exist among us such as difference of races, superiors and subordinates between husband and wife or father and son or the CEO and executives and many more.

After 2 or 3 days of the training, there are more than 90 %(reference: in-house training feedback forms) testimonials of positive changes in individual. A changed person gives greater impact to the family, workplace, society and nation as a whole.

How to sustain what I’ve got from the training?

There are some ways that you could do:
 Once you became an alumni of the training, you could join the training again to ‘recharge’ for free; wherever it is around the globe.
 As an alumni as well, there are some activities such as monthly breakfast sharing, montly “renungan 165″ and continuous “program menghafal dan menghayati 99 Asmaul Husna through Super Power Memory Way”.
 Volunteering as an ATS (Alumni Training Support).
 Do practise 5 Actions as stated in the ESQ Model throughout your life.

How effective is the training?

ESQ Leadership Training Malaysia has a humble beginning in 2006 by conducting 2 public trainings a year.
In 2007 through words of mouth and strong support from alumni, we have increased public training to more than 40.

Now we are working closely with big conglomerates, multinational companies and government agencies such as
PetronasSime DarbyUEM Group, BPR, DBKL and many more in order to promote the values of 165(one value, 6 principles and 5 actions).

Petronas gives us 4.6 score(out of 5).

What is ESQ training approach?

ESQ Leadership Training is an experiential learning accelerated by:

high impact multimedia
powerful sound technology
giant screen presentation
convenient venues

ESQ Leadership Training is a blend of modern management, spirituality and science.

ESQ Leadership Training Atmosphere

What is ESQ training model?

The ESQ Leadership Training consists of :

1 Value - How to feel God consciousness.

The modules are:

Inner Journey
Outer Journey
Zero Mind Process

6 Principles - How to internalise core values.

The modules are:

Star Principle
Angel Principle
Leadership Principle
Learning Principle
Vision Principle
Well-Organised Principle

5 Actions - How to sustain the principles and core values.

The modules are:

Mission Statement
Character Building
Self-Controlling
Strategic Collaboration
Total Action

This is why it is called ESQ 165.

ESQ Model

What are the references of the training?

As a spiritual leadership training, we need to have reliable references and as a Muslim, Dr. Ary Ginanjar Agustian refers to the following resources to develop his module:
 Quran
 Hadith - the teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh)
 Spiritual journey to historical places where top leaders were born
 Research through ESQ team
 Findings based on science and modern management
 Sharing of experience from people from all walks of life

Why do I have to pay for the training?

ESQ Leadership Training is conducted by professionals and in order to ensure its effectiveness, ESQ Leadership Center spends a big sum of money for
multimedia, sound system, booking a comfortable training hall and many more.

Nevertheless ESQ Leadership Training is relatively cheaper compared to other trainings conducted by other companies.

Is it true that I could join the training for free?

Yes, it is true if you are already an alumni. You could recharge yourself in other training(any module/s that you have attended), wherever it is, for
free.

TESTIMONIALS

Saya merasakan bahawa dari sudut isi mahupun metodologi, ESQ Training sungguh menakjubkan.

ESQ is very good and effective training that makes us get in touch with our spiritual and emotional side. Participants will come back recharged with renewed enthusiasm to be a person that he or she can be whether as a father, mother, entrepreneur, son, daughter, worker or boss.
Ahmad Nazri Ahmad Noor, HR General Manager, Kumpulan Karangkraf

ESQ Training in many areas have managed to enlighten and enhance my views and perception of myself and further strengthen my current inner beliefs and principles. Personally, ESQ in some ways has made me more optimistic and refresh my outlook towards life.
Wang Twee Pang, Branch Manager, PUSPAKOM

ESQ Sukses adalah harapan semua di zaman moden ini. Ternyata untuk mencapai hidup sukses tidak cukup mengutamakan IQ saja, namun diperlukan kematangan serta ketrampilan emosional dan spiritual
Usman Chatib Warsa, REKTOR UI, INDONESIA

Before I join the ESQ Training I did not realized I did awful things in my life especially to my families, friends and staff. I was egoist, naive and lot more of bad attitudes. ESQ shaked me and made me aware who am I, where am I coming from and where am I heading to. I feel remorse. ESQ had been the eye opener of my heart and will lead me to a better life on the way back to Allah the Almighty.
William de Weerd, Risk Manager, Rodamco Europe, Holland

Ary Ginanjar brings the deep power of ESQ to a vision of renewed and compassionate Islam. He has the voice of a wise teacher. His words opened my heart to the beauty of a faith I had never before understood.
Danah Zohar, Pengarang ‘Spiritual Intelligence’ & ‘Spiritual Capital’, ENGLAND

ESQ 165 balances the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual aptitude and attitude in me. It fits nicely in the total training philosophy of interfacing work, life, and learning.. I am truly impressed despite my 28 years experiencing in human capital development. Its’ a mind opener.
Roslan Razak, VICE PRESIDENT 1 , SIME DARBY BUSINESS SCHOOL

I have had formal training on various kinds of learning. I had once seek religious knowledge and had continuously practiced the good deeds(amal) from the classes I attended. Then I was busy climbing the corporate ladder until I missed the pure feeling of happiness when you feel and aware that God is helping you in your every conduct-God even suppress your words so as not to be blurted out when you have the temptation to say something damaging. Three days in ESQ training gives me back the feelings. It is so serene. I realized my habitual conducts have changed abruptly. From my experience and knowledge in human resource development, ESQ Training is indeed a transformational learning; a learning experience that is capable to transform people which normally occur in real life situation such as being diagnosed with cancer or lost os someone dear
Nor Aliza Abd Latif, SENIOR MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCE PLANNING TNB

Organisasi seperti PUSPAKOM yang terpenting dalam membangun modal insan bukanlah skill atau knowledge, tetapi spiritual melalui internal strength, di situlah kekuatan.
Dato’ Hj Salamat Hj Wahit, CEO PUSPAKOM

The Uncertainty In Perak

Sorry guys, I just have to remind you all about the current uncertainty in Perak, especially when it involves our future as a student in this state.

I would respect all of your political beliefs, your views and opinions about the situation. But can we just lay low and continue our normal lives as a UTP student?

Please be reminded that UTP management is paying extra attention to students' involvements, especially those who are rumored actively involve in politics. I would appeal to those involved, please keep yourself lay low as I don't want our batch reputation tarnished in the eyes of others.

I take my time bloghopped to some of our comrades' blog, and yeah, most of us are voicing out their opinions about this issue. It's ok, but not too obvious that you're supporting whatever political party.

And for those who planned to go to Ipoh, please be informed that there might be some road closure and extra roadblocks as well. So, please take care of yourself then.

OK then, that's only my concern for the time being. All of us are matured human being and I don't want to treat like little kids at least. Cheers! xD

Welcome Back and Gong Xi Fa Cai

Hello guys and gals,

I just hope that it's not too late for me to welcome back all July 06 comrades back to UTP for January 2009. We are reaching the end of the 2nd week of the semester and this semester would be among the challenging ones as courses get tougher, events getting more and more and especially for Technos, who are hunting for a place for their internship next semester.

And I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Tionghua, Hokkien, Teochew and whatever Chinese clan we have in UTP, Gong Xi Fa Cai, Kong Hee Fat Choy to those who celebrated Chinese New Year last Monday. I think since today is the fifth day of Chinese New Year, it's believed that today is considered as parting day, where guests who came to celebrate will not be entertained. I don't know, I just read from the book particularly :P

Speaking about new semester, maybe we forgot that some of our friends left UTP unnoticed by us. Well, for those who already left UTP and read this post, we wish you all the best in your future undertaking in the new career.

About the sports carnival that I've planned before, it looks like it wouldn't become a reality, unless if anyone could assist me in planning what kind of events. Plus, I was being informed that some courses will plan their own activities soon. So, I leave it up to the course representative to decide what's the next course of plan.

Last but not least, by the request of these guys, Syntech Organization will be organizing Creative Art Festival or known as CRAFT on 16 February to 21 February 2009. I don't have much details about the event, therefore please drop by to the link if you want to know more about the event

http://creativeartfestival.blogspot.com

Oh ya, I forgot about the UTP League. For this year's league, 5 team will represent our batch either the entire team or several members of the team. The teams are

Onitsuka Tiger (2008's runner-up)
Apocalypto United
Evo 20
Tanker (consist of East Malaysians)
Rajawali (Matrix Engineering guys)

Well, I think that's all for this post. My last shoutout, to all appointed writer, at least please give me some assistance to update this batch blog. I don't want to run it alone by myself, and that's the reason I give the access to all of you.

Anyway, for those who are interested to write in July 06 Official Weblog, you can just email me at psychomuse46@gmail.com OR thematch88@yahoo.com. Give me your Blogger id, and I'll appoint in no time.

That's all for now. Cheers! xD

The Result Buzz

All the buzz about July 08 semester result would end soon. It is rumoured that the results would be announced on Friday, 9 January 2009 at 12.00 p.m.

It's a norm for UTP to announce the results days before the supplementary examination for foundations and undergraduates which will be held on 12 & 13 January 2009 (Monday & Tuesday)

Whatever the rumours, may we pass with the flying colours!

Oh ya, for Technos, get ready with your resumes, because it's hunting job time!

I'll try to gather more information about internship place available later when we resume our studies on 19 January 2009.

So, prepare your resume and impress your interviewers ya! xD
